Ha Duong Minh is a senior scientist with a keen interest in energy, climate change, society, economy, and uncertainty. In his role as a senior environmental and development researcher, his mission is to empower individuals and groups to transform the world into a better place. He founded the almost independent Vietnam Energy Transition Initiative (VIET SE) in August 2018. In December 2014, he established the Clean Energy and Sustainable Development (CleanED) laboratory at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH). He is the lead author of IPCC Assessment Reports 4 and 5, jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. His HDR thesis focuses on imprecise probability, especially using possibility theory to create scenarios and transferable belief models to synthesize expert opinions, applied in environmental and energy economics.
