Dr Nguyen Nhat Linh is a lung disease and public health specialist. He is currently working for the Global Tuberculosis Programme, World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr Linh was trained in Vietnam (at Hanoi Medical University and National Lung Hospital) as a general practitioner and a pulmonologist, and he obtained Master of Science in public health at the University of London and PhD in medicine at the University of Sydney. Dr Linh has had more than 30 years of experience working in tuberculosis and public health research, health programme implementation, development of evidence-based health policy and guidelines, and provision of advisory support to developing countries on implementing health programmes. He has been involved in the development of around 40 WHO global guidance documents or reports for use by countries over the world and has experienced in providing technical support and building capacity for health programmes in over 35 developing countries.
