Dr. Tran Ngoc Anh is a Professor at Indiana University and a Chair Vietnam Initiative, which is a global think tank on Vietnam’s development.
His researches on the development and governance of developing countries have been published in leading academic journals including Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Public Economics, and American Political Science Review.
He currently leads several USAID major projects to promote higher education and provincial development in Vietnam. He is also a regular consultant to the United Nations and World Bank, and a Member of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council of Vietnam. In his capacity, Anh has initiated reforms and personally trained many leaders of ministries and provinces in Vietnam. Anh has participated in UNDP Academic Fellowship, Asia Foundation’s Emerging Leaders Program and Vietnamese Prime Minister’s Research Council. Born in Hanoi, he has studied and worked in Russia, France, Australia and the United States. Anh received his Ph.D. in Public Policy from Harvard University in 2009.
